There Was No Armenian Genocide:

An Answer To Robert Fisk

First of all, I wish to state my position on Armenian genocide claims. After inspecting all historical documents that I could reach, I strongly believe that ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IS A LIE.

My conclusion is clear, but my stance is NOT fanatic. Unlike the people who defend that there has been a genocide, I believe in freedom of speech. They should be eligible to defend their opinions, even though they want to abolish our right to deny them.

Why are they wrong? Because they don't have any historical proof, any reasonable document, any honest evidence.

Genocide claimers can't show any proof that it was a "genocide" in terms of UN definition. All the documents they are showing are WWI propaganda papers which were mostly prepared by agent-provacateurs of the time, like the infamous Blue Book by Arnold Toynbee.

On the other hand, the people who think that there was no genocide refer numerous documents, most of them written by totally unbiased, neutral sources of the time. Here are some examples:

* Swedish officer Hjalmar Pravitz lived in Turkey between 1915-1917, stayed among Armenian population. According to Nya Dagligt Allehanda, a 90 years-old Swedish newspaper which is recently resurfaced, he tells that he has read a book just before he came to Turkey. The book by Marika Stjerstedt was claiming that Armenians were targets of a Turkish genocide campaign, but Major Pravitz couldn't see such a genocide in Turkey. He concluded that this was a propaganda by Western powers who was using Armenian fanatics in Turkey. If you speak Swedish, check this historical document.

* Austrian historian Eric Feigl, who wrote the book The Myth of Terror and was honored in 1984 by the State of Austria, uncovered that all the books about so-called genocide either use fake documents or produce them. He came to Eastern Turkey to witness an opening of a mass grave, full with Turks who were killed by Armenian gangs during WWI.

* Maybe the most important one, First Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovhannes Katchaznouni lived through the days of so-called "genocide" and insisted that it is a lie which was made by imperial powers of the time, to manipulate Ottoman Armenians to a secessing -and ally- "Greater Armenia." This man of honor bravely defended his idea and even wrote a manifesto about it.

* Russian Lieutenant Colonel Tverdohlebov, who was on duty on the western front of Russia during WWI, states in his diary that the real victims of 1917-1918 events were Turks, not Armenians.

These are unbiased historical documents and all these people use the same words with me: THERE IS NO ARMENIAN GENOCIDE. Armenians (and especially those who live in Armenia); don't be manipulated by others, who benefit from our enmity. We are brothers as long as there is the truth. Or else, with a manipulated history, we'll stay enemies just like the System of a Down preaches. And just like Robert Fisk can't see.

Fisking Time

Robert Fisk, The Independent columnist, wrote about this issue yesterday. And this time, I believe more strongly in Turkish position (even though I'm not a nationalist) just because of his style.

Fisk, tries to defend Taner Akcam in his latest article. I'll tell about Akcam, a mediocre Turkish academic, later.

Blame Wikipedia

All in all, Fisk's article is a worthless piece of disinformation. Is Fisk fool enough to believe that American police can "arrest" somebody just because a Wikipedia user wrote that he/she is a terrorist. I don't think that Fisk really believes in it. He just tries to manipulate our minds with that "stupid Americans, poor Easterner freedom warriors" stuff again, that's all.

If I list these kind of manipulations, lies, falsifications, disinformation in the article, this would really be a very long fisking piece. I don't wanna bore you with such things, but here is a sample lie by Fisk:

He states that "'Tall Armenia Tale' (is a) a Holocaust denial website." I'm not the advocate of the mentioned website and I'm not linked to it anyhow, but I am smart and honest enough to tell that this site is denying only Armenian genocide, not Holocaust. You can even see material about Holocaust there, informing about the Turkish ambassador in Paris who saved 10000 Jews from Holocaust.

Manipulation is Fisk's forté, it seems to me. And I am not the first person who says this.

Fisk's insistence proves that genocide claims are always defended by those who benefits from political manipulation. 90 years ago, this manipulation was made by British to circle collapsing Ottoman Empire and to persuade USA to enter WWI. Now this manipulation is made by Armenian diaspora to circle Turkey and by their Turkish collaborators who economically benefit from this affair.

Beirut, the Lebanese city which Fisk lives, is a stronghold of fanatics from Armenian diaspora, who just demands compensation for a non-existent genocide ('historical consciousness' is just their cover). I can understand how Fisk is also manipulated. That's why he is always very prejudiced about this issue, he doesn't even listen what the opposite side is saying.

This is Fisk.

Academic or Epidemic?

Taner Akcam -who wrote a letter to Fisk to complain about American police!- is a mediocre Turkish scholar, who is financially supported by Armenian diaspora and some shadowy Armenian institutions which was once linked to terrorist organization ASALA, according to claims. Akcam basically makes his living from Armenian genocide, getting sponsors from lots of countries where fanatic Armenian diaspora loves to see him preach. It should be very satisfactory to hear that your enemy's friend disapproves his views.

Akcam is also a master of manipulation. He named his book on the subject as "A Shameful Act," referring to the words that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk once used for the Armenian issue. However he never mentioned that the rest of Ataturk's words: "Incontrary to all the false accusations against us, the most of Armenians who were forced to migrate to other areas of Ottoman Empire are alive now. If Allies haven't have forced us to war again to defend ourselves, the majority of them could have been returned back home."

He is actively working to stop any Turkish academic who doesn't think like him to lecture in universities abroad, especially in USA. And with the power of Armenian lobby, he generally succeeds.

This is Taner Akcam.

Last Words

Criminalizing Holocaust denial was a right move, because it was a historical fact without any dispute. With every kind of proofs like written orders, mass graves, gas chambers, etc. The reason of this was about not having new Hitler's.

Criminalizing so-called Armenian genocide is baptising a lie. For such a harsh accusation, you should have enough historical proof. For moving even forward to restrict freedom of speech, you gotta need more.

The reason of this is because Armenian diaspora fears the truth which would bury their hopes of a fruitful bounty. Firstly bloody hands of ASALA were killing people who think like me. Now they try to lawfully block us to tell the truth, but we would keep staying responsible to the humanity and history.

If Fisk and Akcam is on one side together, you gotta be on the other side, if you're honest and responsible to the humanity and history.
