AKP's Headscarf Tangle

The head of Turkey's ruling party is covered by something: Turban (a special -and somehow political Islamist- way of tying the traditional headscarve).

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan demonstrated once again that he will use the headscarf as a political tool. "Even if the headscarf is a political symbol," he said, "What's wrong with it?"

Well, swastika is also a political symbol and there is something wrong with it.

Anyway... Why does he just keep talking about it?

You're the government, you have been in power for the last 5 years, you have a absolute majority, you seized all key institutions in the state... If you want to abolish the ban on headscarf in public institutions, just do it.

Why do you still use it as a tool for political manipulation?
