AKP Proudly Presents:

Misgovernance v2.0

The latest Youtube ban in Turkey had underlined the inadequate administrative skills of the current government. We have just experienced even a worse situation, emphasizing AKP's "misgovernance" once again.

About Youtube, Turkish courts keep acting in an irrational (but totally legal) way to ban whole website because of a few videos. The site is still out of our reach (especially for those who don't know anything about proxies or DNS settings).

The widespread, quasi-liberal urban legend tells you that these bans are all about Ataturk, but actually most of the videos, which are considered 'harmful,' were denouncing -or directly insulting- Islamist sect leaders, like Adnan Oktar.

The courts cannot be accused here because they just rightfully practice the law. The fact that the laws are outdated is not their fault. It is something that should be fixed by the government.

That's why I am right to accuse AKP. It prefers to keep these laws (which had been made for 1980s), even though it is already seen how these automatic court decisions disregard the citizens' rights and ridicule Turkey's image abroad.

What is the worse example of the ill-fated logic of the government?

A private hospital in Istanbul have recently been punished by the Ministry of Health.

Do you know what's the sanction? To close the hospital for 5 days!

And a traffic accident happened near the hospital yesterday. The ambulance brang an injured man. The doctors had to treat the patient outside the hospital building, which was closed by the authorities who insisted to apply the ministry sanction. And the patient has died...

Banning whole websites because of a few videos and closing hospitals completely as a show of governmental power...

Welcome to the AKP democracy!
